Compass Acupuncture is a place where caring can be found along every step of your journey with us. It is a place to aspire to a better you, and be inspired and supported when the journey gets difficult, as often occurs when we earnestly travel towards health. It is a place to relax, enjoy, think, reflect, and begin to take the steps towards feeling not just better, but good.
East Asian Medical Principles
Compass Acupuncture is founded on the principles of East Asian medicine, a medicine that is based on thousands of years of careful and thoughtful observational practice. It is a holistic approach of treating the whole person, rather than the main complaint. It is about getting to the root of the problem, and finding the path towards health that takes into account where you are now and you would like to be. East Asian medicine not only looks at the whole person, but involves a partnership between you and your practitioner.
We understand that there is a powerful connection between our bodies and our emotions. It is why emotional conditions such as depression and anxiety can cause physical pain, and conversely, why physical trauma can result in one’s emotions being affected. Similarly, there is an equally strong connection between our bodies and the environment in which we live. Too much or sudden exposure to wind, cold, heat, dryness, or damp can result in illness. Finally, our lifestyle choices can also influence our health. Diet, exercise, medication, and breathing can all factor into how we feel. At Compass Acupuncture we will meet you where you are and work with you in assisting you to find your way to the pinnacle of health.
Compass Acupuncture Founder
Amy Geile, EAMP, LAc, MAc, MS
- Amy is a licensed acupuncturist who graduated with her Master’s degree in Acupuncture from the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine. She came to find East Asian medicine after suffering with a headache for 121 consecutive days. After trying everything else, she decided to try acupuncture and it transformed her life.
Amy understands that the path towards health is different for everyone and that it is a journey. She is humbled that you have chosen to share your journey with her and she will do everything possible to assist you in finding your path towards health and wellness.
When she isn’t in the clinic, you will find her exploring the magnificent natural surroundings of the Pacific Northwest or spending time with her amazing and supportive friends and family.
“Amy is special. In my visits with her, she routinely demonstrates giftedness in the arts of listening, thoughtful diagnosis and care. For many years, I have tried and been frustrated by traditional/western medical remedies for injuries that have deeply impacted the active lifestyle I have aspired to. Under her care, I quickly gained mobility and function in my arm and wrists I’ve truly not had in 20 years! Thank you, Amy, for helping me run, ski and lift weights again!”
